Your first session (often called an intake) is primarily an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We will discuss what brings you in, your history, and what you hope to achieve through therapy. It is also your chance to ask questions about my approach and see if we are a good fit. Together, we will begin outlining a collaborative path forward.on

There is no special homework required before our first meeting. To help things go smoothly, simply complete any intake paperwork or questionnaires sent to you prior to the appointment. Beyond that, just take a few moments to reflect on what prompted you to reach out and what you hope to get out of therapy. It is completely normal to feel a bit nervous—we will take things at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Some clients find short-term, focused support effective for navigating a specific life transition or stressor, while others engage in longer-term exploration for deeper personal growth. We will regularly check in on your progress to ensure therapy remains aligned with your needs.
